Theo Gould

Theo Gould qualified from Cambridge University in 1993. She has run the veterinary practice inside Scampers Pet care for over 25 years, initially as part of Aquarius Veterinary Centre and now as the sole owner of Northfield Vets.

She works at the practice most days of the week and spreads her time between consultations and surgery.

Theo has always enjoyed training, competing and judging German longhaired pointers. Her interest in training and behaviour has a huge impact on her treatment of her patients (both canine and feline) and their owners. Theo has built her reputation on knowledge, kindness, understanding and trust.

Outside of the practice, Theo enjoys spending time relaxing with her dog, Daisy, and two cats, or out on the golf course.

Theo is joined, on her team, by regular locum vets Nadia Ivanova and Teresa Burnford.

Julia Barrett

Julia Barrett

Julia Barrett has been a loyal and conscientious member of our team since 2008, having qualified in 1999.

She spends most of her time assisting with operations, taking nurse clinics and organising the medical order. Julia loves to travel, eat out and spend time with her young family, their cats and dog.

Jenny Evett

Jenny Evett

Jenny Evett has been a valued member of the team since 2020, having trained and qualified in Australia. She is an enthusiastic, capable and bubbly nurse with a keen interest in radiology.

Jenny is passionate about animals, so whether it is a nail clip appointment, or assisting in theatre, she is guaranteed to give 100% to your pet and its needs. You can often find her cuddled up to the patients after their surgery.

Most of Jenny’s spare time is spent enjoying time with her young family and their dog, Ruby Red.

Jenny French

Jenny French

Jenny French has been part of our team since 2018. She is a highly efficient, knowledgeable RVN, qualifying in 2001 from the Royal Veterinary College.

Jenny also owns and runs Wren Canine Hydrotherapy and Rehabilitation centre in Mildenhall, where she is passionate about post injury rehabilitation, injury prevention, pain management and helping to increase mental and physical wellbeing.

Jenny shares her life with three teenage boys, four dogs, a cat and some chickens. In her limited spare time she enjoys reading, walking, and kayaking when the weather is nice!

Clare Bryant

Clare Bryant

Clare Bryant is one of our registered veterinary nurses. While Clare’s primary role involves teaching animal studies during the week, her passion for animal care extends beyond the classroom. During holidays and weekends, Clare dedicates her time to hands-on veterinary work, providing essential care to our furry patients when they need it most.

Outside of her professional responsibilities, Clare finds solace in the tranquillity of nature, often venturing into the great outdoors with her faithful companion, Bertie, by her side.

Katie

Katie Holmes

I have been qualified since 2008, and I just adore my job, as you never stop learning – no 2 days are ever the same!

My absolute passions are surgery and anaesthesia, but I love every aspect of veterinary nursing – the ability to make even the smallest difference to both patients and clients is, what I consider to be, an absolute privilege. I feel incredibly lucky to be part of the amazing team at Northfield Vets.

I am the proud owner of two Terriers – Tiggy (Border terrier) and Speranza (Yorkshire Terrier x Goodness knows what!), both of whom I rescued. It has been (and continues to be) an incredibly rewarding journey.

Outside of work, my main hobby is photography, and I much prefer being behind the lens than in front of it!

Cara Ford

Cara Ford

Cara Ford is the dynamic force behind our reception desk, seamlessly managing client accounts and invoicing with precision and care. With a passion for organisation and a keen eye for detail, Cara ensures that our clients receive the highest standard of service from the moment they make contact.

Cara leads a fulfilling life outside of work, balancing her responsibilities with the joys of family and her love for horses. Cara cherishes the time spent with her young family.

Nicky Richardson

Nicky Richardson

Nicky Richardson brings a warm and welcoming presence to our team as one of our dedicated receptionists. Outside of the practice, you can find Nicky exploring the great outdoors, her appreciation of nature reflected in her attentive and nurturing demeanour at the reception desk.

With her friendly disposition and passion for both nature and animals, Nicky embodies the spirit of hospitality and warmth that we strive to cultivate within our team.

Julie Wright

Julie Wright

Julie Wright is the friendly face that greets you with a smile at our reception desk. With a knack for making everyone feel welcome, Julie ensures that every visitor’s experience is nothing short of exceptional. She is the newest member of the reception team, joining us in 2021. Always bright and cheery, you are likely to hear her before you see her, as she welcomes you and your pets with her bubbly personality.

Being brought up with a military background, Julie spent much of her younger years living abroad and still has a passion for foreign adventure, travelling far and wide whenever she gets the opportunity.

Teresa Hazlewood

Teresa Hazlewood

Teresa Hazlewood is a member of the team that can be found either in the consult rooms assisting the vets, out the front assisting in the reception, or out in the back assisting the nurses. Being a versatile member of staff, Teresa is valued by everyone at Northfield vets, including the clients and their pets. Always ready to give a cuddle to any of the animals that pass through our doors, Teresa is a devoted animal lover and ‘Mum’ to her own bundles of fluff at home too, where she loves to spend time walking her dogs.
